OOC: She waits for any more questions but when they are done she continues on IC: "Come on Boris, it's time you escort me to the medbay" Kat links her arm through his and guides him to their ship having been reassured that the vargr crew haven't chewed him up and spit him out. "Now, tell me one of those marvelous stories about Karl that you seem to know. Did you know that the first time I met Karl it was in a similar situation as this? He bought me some Kaff and then we both joined up together on the Hidalgo. Silly man left." The last shot the group sees of Kat (before she is out of sight) is her long red braid swishing behind her as she walks beside Boris, asking him if he's had to use that cutlass or is he just carrying it around for decorations. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Boris is in fairly good shape. A couple of vitamin deficiencies, but nothing a few good square meals wouldn't fix. Ok, he's really healthy as an ox (and you have seen them in your travels. Hobby farmers using them to plow fields). He is well muscled, those are work muscles too, not from a bio shop or high tech gym. He has the reflexes of a cat and his heart and blood pressure are that of a (fit) man ten years younger (Boris is 33). Examining his blood, you see that he is up on his vaccinations and has a recent dose of the anti-allergens needed for this planet. You arrive at the offices and you are met by a Petty Officer First Class. His name tag reads Tauong and he has a fair number of service stripes. He is an ordinary looking human male with the tan skin, dark hair and brown eyes most humans have. He would blend in on most human worlds. The two of you end up in a office, it looks like it is his. He points to a chair and a coffee machine, "You want some coffee before we start?" "Its actually pretty good Navy coffee. For a small outpost, we do pretty well on supplies." PO1 Tauong sits behind his desk and drinks from the coffee mug that was waiting for him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lensmen eat Jedi for breakfast http://www.urbin.net/T20PBEM/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From t20gm at urbin.net Wed Oct 3 21:35:44 2007 From: t20gm at urbin.net (Pulp Hunters GM) Date: Wed, 03 Oct 2007 23:35:44 -0400 Subject: [Pulp] 061-1000 10:55 Ridge Downport - The Rat Message-ID: <47045f94.20015a0a.209d.fffff2d7@mx.google.com> At 10:58 AM 10/2/2007, Megan Robertson wrote: > >> "Um. On a professional note (her profession that is), they are all healthy and should be around for a long time. We look out for each other. I've been on shore leave with some of them and even though we have cross species, it's been fun and they are part of the family. Don't let that fool you. The Vargr are still vargr and do their prestige bit. They know when they need to get serious and when they can let go a bit." She looks over at Boris with a serious look. "In all honesty, this group is more of a family to me then some I've had. I might play the flighty doctor and in truth I do have fun and don't normally go by all those regs that keep the captain standing up so straight. Mess with me in my medbay and it will be the last thing you remember for a long time. Mess with the ship and you won't be around to remember anything. I believe it might be safe to say that most, if not all, have a similar feeling. If you're looking for a place you can belong for a bit, then you might have found it. Karl left on a wrong note. He should have told us first. It's not the fact that he left, it's how he did it. All of us have been out in space for a bit, we know crew come and go. Treat everybody like how you want to be treated and you should do ok." She pauses and takes a sip of her kaff. "Now, what should the crew know about YOU I figure that they will start to pump me for some information since they know I've spent the most time with you so far." Kat grins and looks at Boris. ( Yes, he still has the Russian accent. It is just far easier to write normal) "I have done many thigns in the last few years. Some of which I not proud of even though they kept food on my plate. These I will not discuss. Mostly I like machines better then people. They never lie to me. I am good at all the things normal Marines can be expected to be good at. I have kept up those skills even when the job has not called for them." Seeing Montez and seeing that the Dr is unconcerned he relaxes a bit. "As for a home. I do not hope for such yet. It is far too soon for that. I do take my contract, and the people I work with seriously though." Boris runs a hand through his short hair and looks like he is a bit embarressed to have said so much and looks down at his feet for a few seconds. Montez finishes his examination of the hotel services. He saunters over to Kat and Boris. Nodding to Boris; "I see you've survived the doctor. Did she use the normal instruments on you or the cold ones she saves to terrorize our ship's engineer?" He laughs and wags his tail. "Now Doctor, I hope you've been good to Mr. Boris here. Otherwise I'll just have to return this interesting package that I picked up with your name on it out in town." He holds up a medium package wrapped in what looks like red silk tied with black string. There is a logo of some sort on the package that is hard to make out. She can feel that the objects inside the package are rather lumpy. It seems like there might be two or three items. He lightly rubs his nose to hers and barely bares his teeth; "See, I've learned from our encounter over the crop and dancing with you humans." He reaches around her back with his free hand and grabs her long braid. "Now we can begin the Vargr dance." " Well I'm sure the Lieutenant has more important business than checking on a Solomani national on his starport." Disconnect the cal. Call my crew. Delay no longer and head to the INS office. Once arriving, I will take the Petty Officer up on his offer of Coffee, but I won't actually drink it. Instead I will spend as much time and inconspicuously as possible, look around for "things". What things? Things out of place, traps ready to spring, jugulars to claw if it gets nasty, etc. But keeping my calm. She never really knew what to expect from this silly Vargr but it was always something to brighten her day. "Ahhh, you have the Kat by hertail Taz. Beware of what might happen." Kat noticed that he only had a slight grip on it so she wasn't afraid of being injured. She also had observed in their playful tugs back and forth that he was always considerate of not hurting her nor of accidentally cutting her hair. Her eyes twinkled with mischief as she grasped the package more firmly and just "sat down", swinging her legs out to sweep Taz feet at the same time. She knew that she'd land with a little jar but also knew that it wouldn't be enough to injure herself. After an "ommph" escaped her, she started to quickly tear open the package like a kid at Christmas time. Kat gave a squeel of delight when she spotted the first item in the box. It was a pair of white lacey gloves. Kat immediately put on the gloves and held them up in front of her with glee. "Taz!!! These are great!" Not taking time (in case he snitched the rest of the package back), she quickly rummaged to find what else was in there. Soon she had her answer. A set of black leather boots with 3" heels. She held them up for Boris to see also even though she was sure he could have cared less. Those too had to be put on immediately and she was glad that she was now, in fact, sitting down and in a position to do so. Finally she got on the boots and smoothed them against her legs and calves. "A perfect fit Taz. I'm not sure how you did it, but you did well. Such classic colors also." Kat kicked up her booted leg to show both of the guys, and gets up. Kat quickly turned her head, thus freeing her braid from Taz and takes a step back. She grins at the two guys as she peels off one of her gloves and with an expect SNAP, hits Taz in the arm. "Thanks for the presents. I'll just go put these away. You guys think you can handle our defenses until I return?" Not waiting for an answer, she giggles as she leaves, making sure that her braid is safely out of Taz' reach. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
