Truth be told though, it is more because of interest between the two contestants then the game itself. She barely notices when the others start to seem to lose interest. Her bet is on the Captain but also realizes that if he wins, Annie will probably plot some further adventure to gain back any ground that she MIGHT have lost. Of course Kat thinks the same thing if the Captain wins and wonders what nickname the Vargr might develop from this game for the two contestants. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I maneuver deliberately and with practiced caution. The bulkheads and walls are my crutch. All the instruments, and the Rat's communing with the Jump Drive :-), show a standard jump field. Sir Jace calls for a crew meeting at 10:00 which the Captain arranges. Jace smiles from his seat in the Galley, "I believe you all know why I called you here today." "It's payday." Your pay is issued through a very sophisticated bit of technology developed and controlled by MegaCorps who have no sense of humor concerning those who attempt to hack the system. It is about 8 cm x 5cm and about 2 cm thick and includes some rather detailed biometric data on owner. Pretty common stuff in the Imperium. Jace transfers the funds from his bankcard to each of yours. The cards are pretty hand in most civilized areas. You can stop at a bank branch at most medium to large Imperial Starports and get cash if you wish. GM Note: I'm not going to play out that level of detail. I'll assume most of you keep some cash, ranging from a few dozen credits to a few thousand credits in cash (depending on personality, and you know who are. :->) at any given time. The payout is as follows (this is player data, Jace is not announcing the amounts during the transfer. It was announced back at Rikhani that the pay was flat scale). Mitchell: KCr 6 Kriger & Montez: KCr 4.5 Spruance: KCr 3 Dr. Cross & Steiner: KCr 1.5 Dr. Gwerf is a passenger. His way was paid for by his department. Make payday on day 60. The Hidalgo exits Jump space and re-enters the universe. The bridge crew determines that they are just outside the 100 diameter limit of Ridge, plot a course to the main planet and start toward the planet at 3G. You don't see anybody else out there on your sensors. As you get closer to the planet, you are instructed to assume a parking orbit for customs inspection and instructions on landing at the Starport. The Customs inspection is fairly routine, mostly a review of your paperwork conducted between the ISA agent (who docked his shuttle and walked aboard) and the Captain. He verifies note from the ships doctor stating that she has administered the broad spectrum anti-allergy shots to the crew (this will protect the crew from the atmosphere taint). The only thing out of the ordinary is that the ISA agent tells the Captain that he, Kriger and Spruance (i.e. the former members of the Imperial Navy) need to check in at the IN office at the space port. He answers the Captain's raised eyebrow with a shrug that Mitchell correctly translates as "I don't make up the rules. I just pass 'em on, even the stupid ones." GM Notes to players. Ridge A77A112-E ? A class Starport If someone wants to beat the GM to doing the math on how long it will take get to the planet from the Jump limit, feel free. It is a water world. Outside the Imperial Starport Reservation, it's a company owned planet. Out side the company workers (mainly fish & kelp farming with some mining), there is a very small permanent population conducting various forms of scientific research (all approved by the Corp). Local Planetary security is handled by the Corporation that runs the commercial activities on the planet. If you aren't bothering one of their installations, they typically won't bother you. From previous briefings, you know that you will be transferring to ocean based ship named the "Adam Kadmon." The Captain of that ship is Ramuunirkh Urth, an retired professor that Jace studied under as an undergrad. The downport is located on a series seamount peaks that comes very close to the surface. Most of the facility is underwater. The landing pads are mix of dry and wet locations depending on the size and type of ship. The Hidalgo is assigned a small open "dry" pad, that is about meter above calm seas. An enclosed tunnel connects it to the starport interior. The pad next to you has a small (200 ton) independent merchant vessel on it. There is activity around it. It appears that it is being fueled and prepped for flight. Karl upon exiting the Hidalgo, stares at the ship for a moment. He tells Dr. Cross he'll be right back and trots down the corridor to the starport interior without answering any questions. Sharp eyed Kriger notices him emerge shortly on the next landing pad. He has a brief discussion with one of the people on the pad, and then proceeds into the interior of the ship. Less than ten minutes later, the fuel lines are disconnected, port service personnel leave the pad, and the ship takes off. It appears to be heading off planet as fast as it can. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lensmen eat Jedi for breakfast http://www.urbin.net/T20PBEM/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From t20gm at urbin.net Mon Sep 10 13:16:10 2007 From: t20gm at urbin.net (Pulp Hunter GM) Date: Mon, 10 Sep 2007 15:16:10 -0400 Subject: [Pulp] OOC: I'm surprised... Turning to Tez she just shrugs. "I'm not sure. I've always known he has had his secrets, I mean who doesn't, He's changed a bit lately. It's like he's somebody else. He doesn't talk as much and seems to be preoccupied. It's almost like he already has left us and was only looking for an escuse.or alternate ship. That's the kind of life he has led and I didn't think he'd change. I just wasn't quite expecting right now. Oh well, time to go through his stuff and see what THIS roommate has left behind. Oh well, we need to do our job. Time to make sure that Sir Jace and Annie are all set to step off the ship. Coming Tez? Montez wags his tail with a sympathetic droop of the ears. Karl had been a good comrade of his also. He was sure there must have been some terrible fate awaiting him to make him leave his shipmates and mate. Perhaps his friend had a more interesting past than he let on... He perks up as she waves towards Annie and Sir Jace. "Let's outfit our team mates. I'm sure there will be some good shopping to do." He gives her a playful nip and wag; "Perhaps we can find a local trinket that will go with the crop." Matt --------------------------------- Shape Yahoo! in your own image. It is a class A starport and the local TL is high. Let me know if you want to pick anything else up. I'll let you know if it is available. I'm going to be running quite busy for a few days, so I'll just get a few balls rolling. Jace and Anousheh get measured for tailored Vacc Suits, the expensive TL E kind. Those won't be ready for about a week. You should be on planet much longer than that. I'll handle the ex-IN trio checking in with the local IN office later. Sorry people, I want to have some fun with that. :-) There is a message waiting for Jace from Ramuunirkh Urth. He'll be arriving at the station in about 36 hours after you contact him (which Jace does). He gives the name of a local supplier of underwater gear. A list of stuff to have is included: Artificial gills, swim fins, masks, wetsuits, buoyancy compensators, snorkels, etc. Personal swim gear mostly. He has more serious gear on his ship. At some point during your first visit, Dr. Cross, Montez, Kriger, and Gwerf are in a bar/cafe having what ever. They are discussing the unexplained departure of Karl Steiner. When you describe the ship he left on, the human male at the next table obviously takes notice. [That's you Boris, they are describing the Star Hopper, the ship you just left.
