First off, GM slip up. Make payday on day 60.
The Hidalgo exits Jump space and re-enters the universe.
The bridge crew determines that they are just outside the 100
diameter limit of Ridge, plot a course to the main planet and start
toward the planet at 3G. You don't see anybody else out there on your sensors.
As you get closer to the planet, you are instructed to assume a
parking orbit for customs inspection and instructions on landing at
the Starport.
The Customs inspection is fairly routine, mostly a review of your
paperwork conducted between the ISA agent (who docked his shuttle and
walked aboard) and the Captain. He verifies note from the ships
doctor stating that she has administered the broad spectrum
anti-allergy shots to the crew (this will protect the crew from the
atmosphere taint). The only thing out of the ordinary is that the
ISA agent tells the Captain that he, Kriger and Spruance (i.e. the
former members of the Imperial Navy) need to check in at the IN
office at the space port.
He answers the Captain's raised eyebrow with a shrug that Mitchell
correctly translates as "I don't make up the rules. I just pass 'em
on, even the stupid ones."
GM Notes to players.
Ridge A77A112-E A class Starport
If someone wants to beat the GM to doing the math on how long it will
take get to the planet from the Jump limit, feel free.
It is a water world. Outside the Imperial Starport Reservation, it's
a company owned planet.
Out side the company workers (mainly fish & kelp farming with some
mining), there is a very small permanent population conducting
various forms of scientific research (all approved by the Corp).
Local Planetary security is handled by the Corporation that runs the
commercial activities on the planet. If you aren't bothering one of
their installations, they typically won't bother you.
From previous briefings, you know that you will be transferring to
ocean based ship named the "Adam Kadmon." The Captain of that ship
is Ramuunirkh Urth, an retired professor that Jace studied under as
an undergrad.
The downport is located on a series seamount peaks that comes very
close to the surface. Most of the facility is underwater.
The landing pads are mix of dry and wet locations depending on the
size and type of ship.
The Hidalgo is assigned a small open "dry" pad, that is about meter
above calm seas.
An enclosed tunnel connects it to the starport interior.
The pad next to you has a small (200 ton) independent merchant vessel on it.
There is activity around it. It appears that it is being fueled and
prepped for flight.
Karl upon exiting the Hidalgo, stares at the ship for a moment.
He tells Dr. Cross he'll be right back and trots down the corridor to
the starport interior without answering any questions.
Sharp eyed Kriger notices him emerge shortly on the next landing pad.
He has a brief discussion with one of the people on the pad, and then
proceeds into the interior of the ship.
Less than ten minutes later, the fuel lines are disconnected, port
service personnel leave the pad, and the ship takes off.
It appears to be heading off planet as fast as it can.
