OOC: No, it would not. It is an IN office, and non of you are in the
Imperial Navy anymore.

An old memory worms its way up. Back in Solomani History, during the
RoM, Solomani genengineers modified the human base. Mostly to improve
their chances of survival on worlds with marginal habitats.
Others did more, mixing in animal DNA to produce what were in all
purposes Slave Species.
Cheap workers with a strong back that would not question their lot.
Other variants were made for other desires. Sex workers for example.
A dark period in mankind's history. The companies that went beyond
the limits where shut down, the their research locked away, and their
products tracked down and "removed from inventory."
Some were rumored to have escaped into, what was the time, deep space.
The rumors that your families DNA was "twiked" here and there during
those days also come to mind, but you shunt those aside. Your
families tendency toward strength, fast reflexes, good hand-eye
coordination, long life spans, etc., is all due to good Solomani stock
breeding true. Yup, that's the ticket...
The PO3 nods, "Good. You got the instructions that all former Naval
personnel are to check in. We're just gathering data, much like the
Scouts do, for use by Fleet Intelligence."
She motions you to come closer to her desk, "If I can have your IDs
please, I'll log you into the system and set up the interviews. It's
pretty slow right now, so I can probably get the set up as soon as I
have your data entered."
