Smile genuinely in recognition of a kindred spirit.
"I want you to release Boris Luchenko into my custody. At least for
the duration of our stay on the planet."
Look at her facial reactions to what I am saying. See if I can gauge
her response to the rest.
"Are we being recorded or observed?"
If she tells me we aren't I'll continue. Otherwise I stop here until
she assures me that we aren't being watched or recorded.
"The Imperial Navy has a vested interest in the work that Sir Jace
Pederson is doing. Mr. Luchenko is an unwitting informant for us
while we are here. I'm sure you have gone over my service record. You
know I was recently retired from the service. What isn't in the
record is that I was taken out of service to keep an eye on the
artifacts that Sir Jace finds and report back anything of
significance to the Admiralty, (Or whatever the appropriate term for
the high command of the Imperial Navy is). I am also under orders to
keep Sir Jace and his discoveries out of the hands of the
Confederation... By any means possible."
