The ACR is unloaded and no magazines or ammunition for it are with the 
other gear.

There is another rifle, still in the shipping case.
The one Kriger bought for Steiner on your last stop.
7.7mm caseless Hunting Rifle with a detachable 15 round magazine.
Very sturdy with a hard irradiated plastic stock and fore grip that 
looks like a light wood grain.
Optical scope and an adjustable ballistic nylon sling.  You note that 
there is no electronics to be found and the coloring of the rifle and 
sling would blend well with a night, wooded or desert background.  Two 
spare magazines and 100 rounds.

What is obviously missing is what Steiner had on his person when he left 
  the ship.
