Wolfe pauses for a moment, staring off into space. It wasn't like Panama, or Iraq or any place on earth. There was no going home. Even via the long route. Unkless they found a gate and could get it to work. The odds didn't look good. He looked carefully over the group he might be spending the rest of his life with. Were any of the really ready for the possibility of making a new home on an alien planet. Sula, perhaps. But it was one thing to survive until rescue, quite another to start a new life as a castaway - like Robinson Crusoe. At least he wasn't alone. But that might mean problems too. Eventually, people would pair-bond. Four men and three women - one of whom was an alien - that didn't bode well. Wolfe tried to imagine what was underneath Sula's clothing - tentacle, fur? He really had no idea. Doctor Molineux was attractive enough - probably decent in the sack. But she definitely struck him as high maintenance. That left Brubacker. Whatever the case, it was bound to get ugly eventually. They were, after all, human. In the mean time, the best he could do was to keep everyone moving, keep them busy and rely upon what ever legal or moral authority he could continue to exert. But he was just as human, and as he considered his next move, he couldn't help noticing the Brubaker's posterior as she bent over to grab her gear. He quickly diverted his attention to his weapon. Cold steel. Death from afar. The mission. They had to find a way home. Before things started to break down. "Form up people. Let's get this friggen show on the road." _______________________________________________ SG21 mailing list SG21 at travellercentral.com http://lists.travellercentral.com/mailman/listinfo/sg21 From wolfe at travellercentral.com Tue Apr 24 11:59:30 2007 From: wolfe at travellercentral.com (Capt Wolfe) Date: Tue, 24 Apr 2007 11:59:30 -0600 Subject: [SG21] Winter Wonderland In-Reply-To: <46212DEE.2070802@xipcodes.com> References: <2C65B75F-AF93-4B38-942E-94F27A127B03@travellercentral.com> <461D1400.5010303@xipcodes.com> <46212DEE.2070802@xipcodes.com> Message-ID: <7911CF11-D54A-432E-B028-83BAB2217DD8@travellercentral.com> On Apr 14, 2007, at 1:39 PM, Stargate Command wrote: > Robert Wolfe wrote: > > >> The captain sighs heavily. >> >> "Sula, did you see anything in the area that look like a village or >> something? The whole setup for this game was all rather rushed to get to the part where you go adventuring. But the characters all have access to the information and intel from three years of SG-1 missions. So, anything that's shown up in the movie or in the TV series in the first three seasons is character knowledge. I encourage you to take a look at the SG-1 website if you are unfamiliar with the series. The gist of the conversation is that without a repair facility to replace key components that have been damaged in the crash, the ship will never fly again. On the good column. The cloaking device still works. Sula doesn't seem upset so much as frustrated with the lack of ability to fully communicate with the others. She seems to be holding something back though. No way away from the ship for a couple hundred meters to not leave tracks. The rushing water sound is the closest opportunity to not leave tracks. The water itself is moving pretty fast and the channel of the small river is very fast. This would be a class 5 rapid in rafting terms. You'll have to come back here in the summer time. No footprints is still a good thing. As stated previously, nothing of note for a couple of clicks, then steep loose rocky canyon walls. Up higher the rock is probably more intact. looks like you have had a few rock falls in the past.
