After a brief and unusual snowy period on the planet, Airman Carroll discovers that the planets sun, though yellow, is emitting more UV rays than the team is used to. Sunscreen is passed around and used liberally. After some time the team encounters a ruined factory of some sort. It's unusually high tower (smoke stack) has the top painted in a bright turquoise color. Atop the tower are several people. Some of which are apparently being sacrificed and then thrown into the stack. The team then sees the people doing the sacrificing, exit from a set of external stairs at the bottom of the tower. Five people all told. On in an elaborate outfit with feathers and everything. and the other four with 1.5 meter long staves with round glowing globes on top. The team is captured when these four with the staves use them to emit a web of ground lightning that stuns the team into unconsciousness. The team awakens to find themselves bound and in transit in a rickity old semi truck pulling a set of two trailers. Capt Wolfe and Murphy have managed to conceal a knife each from your captors, and the team frees itself from it's bonds. Discovering that the sheet metal on the trailers is thin and mostly rusty the team plans a breakout. At the point where the team is about to break out of their trailer, the truck and trailer is suddenly pelted by rocks being thrown from a group of the oppressed people of this planet. Who's village has been the source of more than a few sacrificial victims. At the time of the attack on the truck, the team breaks out of their trailer. Wolfe Heads for the 5 operators of the vehicle and manages to disrupt them from using their combination lightning weapon again. Voorhis attacks the feathered serpent only to discover that it is indeed a Goa Uld . Apparently a priest of the local sect. Carroll and the Doctor find refuge behind a low stone walled hut in the village the truck has come to a halt in. Brubaker Starts that way but decides to go after the truck itself. The truck is obviously in need of serious repair and has been held together with spit and bailing wire. Brubaker finds a few clay jars inside the truck and takes one, which Rosa later informs her is full of coffee beans. Murphy and Sula have reacquired. the teams weapons. After a short burst from one of the machineguns and a couple of rocks thrown by Carroll, the priest is killed. When the snake tries to escape and bond with Voorhis, it is also killed. With the help of the villagers Wolfe gets the other four dispatched with only a few minor injuries to himself. Unfortunately the villagers are not as good at this as Wolfe. Several have been killed. A couple have fatal wounds they wont be able to survive without hospitalization. and many have serious wounds that will take a long time to heal. But Carroll will do his best. The remaining villagers are in awe of your awesome power and prowess at fighting and defeating the priest and his minions. They will hold a little celebration in your honor for defeating the evil serpent and those it carried in it's belly. The main priest dude has some simple jewelry and a rather ornate wrist band with a lot of turquoise set into it. Each of the four minions has the clothing on their backs and the odd staff weapons they were using. > Wolfe paces around, running is hand through the stubble on his head. A couple of the older men from the village are watching you as they hobble by where you are pacing. Occasionally pointing at you and making comment to each other. You overhear the comments, and understand them. They seem to think you are stressed and in need a good woman. "Maybe we can get this second trailer unhooked?" "Let me try," Voorhis says jumping down from the cab and heading back to the linkage. Can it be disconnected? Are there hydraulics that need to be reconnected to the remaining trailer? If he can figure out what needs to be done, Voorhis will do so. Disconnect the airlines, open the dolly hook and away you go. -- Stargate Command From zoe at travellercentral.com Fri Aug 31 00:25:15 2007 From: zoe at travellercentral.com (Zoe Brubaker) Date: Thu, 30 Aug 2007 23:25:15 -0700 Subject: [SG21] A Conversation. He says that it was an ancient race, long vanished that built it. And that the Goa uld, they call them Shuta ji, have been using them for centuries. Well at least as far back as anyone else can remember. He says that to find the gate we must follow the fingers of the gods and peer into the minds eye of the gods. I have no idea what that means though. But it sounds like it's a long ways away from here." The old man is drawing something on the ground with his stick. It looks like a mountain with an eye on top of it. He points south. Towards the direction the truck was heading. He quietly says something . "He says take the serpent path." -- Stargate Command
