HERO is a very nice system, if you have the time to learn the rules,
and are able to play it frequently enough to remember the rules.
I've only ever used it for Superhero games (Champions). It and GURPS
remind me of each other, you can use them to do pretty much anything
you want.

Both have the same problem, they are two complex for me to use any
more. I'm lucky to get in 3-6 sessions per year of the campaign I'm
running, and have had year long gaps. I'd have to relearn the rules
every time I turned around. This is why everything I run from now on
will most likely use the BRP system.

HERO games has done some very nice books that can be used with other
systems with a little work. I suspect a majority of the copies of
Pulp HERO were sold to people that don't play using the HERO system.
It is an absolutely *FANTASTIC* supplement, and so is their book on
locations for a pulp game. I suspect that copies of the Star HERO
material might be worth picking up for use in Traveller. From where
I'm sitting having a HERO version of Traveller is great news.
