At the Supers levels it works great, it tends to be a little large
grained at strictly human scale games, less so if all the players
understand that base human's stats are 8's not 10's.

Funny that, considering they are design first cousins and
all, a lot of the people involved with Champions were
also involved with GURPs.

Yep, but they are much easier if you can find a character gen
program that you like. Though I have to say the average Gurps
or  Hero character is no more complex than your average 6/7th
level 3rd edition D&D character.
