Thats the exact same quibble I have with GURPS (and I used to love
2nd edition, I am sure it was never so complex ack in the day)
the combat system is a nightmare, it is a wargame to my eyes not
an rpg, great if you want the detail though but for me it just 
overcomplicates
things, now I love SJG but, honestly, itis too much for me the new GURPS
(do love the character skills and stuff tho)
