Yes, you did.
I was unhappy but not really with you, Rob, so much as what I was expecting
to happen.
And maybe a bit at being resubbed when I'd gone to the trouble of asking not
to be.
You did fix that pretty quick though.
Anyhow. I've left TML twice now. Once due to the utterly disgusting
attitudes of certain posters who turned on me when I pointed out why their
posts were in extremely bad taste, and once because it became apparent that
I couldn't raise my head without being attacked over something I wrote a
decade ago... and in fact not all of the things I was being attacked for
were actually my 'fault'. On both occasions I might have done differently
had TML actually been much use to me, but as a rule traveller content tends
to be either low or of the negative your-book-sucks sort.
So here I am again, giving it yet another try. Thus far nobody has felt the
need to attack me, so that's okay.
I'm not claiming to be some kind of Traveller god but I *am* likely to be
involved in MongTrav, which means that TML has a chance of both influencing
my work and maybe getting information on the inside track - if I stay. That
might or might not be of value to the list denizens.
But I have to say my experience of TML has been very negative and I'm not
inclined to be tolerant of any more crap.
I don't need to read more diatribes on why I suck (I know why, the point has
been made and beaten to death, go to hell already) and neither am I inclined
to stay around to be abused.
The bottom line is that I've returned with extremely negative expectations,
and as soon as the usual suspects start grinding their axes I'll be gone
again. But you know what? They might have learned some manners in the
interim, or at least be willing to leave me alone.
(Sigh). I know better than to do this but okay. Let's give it a try.
