And the whole idea of small vs big ship Imperial Navy is what I'm tinkering
with in the tons, tonnes and tuns postings I've been making.
So far in my number crunching, it would appear that while big ship navies
are buildable, they have all the pragmatic value (and mobility) of a Maginot
line.

Ah, but it does make life easier for the patrol cruiser captain; if the ship
ahead has the wrong size FAs on its laser, then firing first and asking
question later is a lot easier to justify.
