You misunderstand: Meson guns are named after Bob 'Just Call Me  
Buckaroo' Meson, an ancient Solomani research engineer and nuclear  
physicist who discovered a class of exotic handwavium particles with  
a sideways half-spin, tamale flavor and a greenish-mauve color with  
the requisite behaviors to make a meson gun possible.

These are the actual things that a Meson gun shoots out 8-P

Yes, the premise is, in fact, flawed, based on a incomplete  
understanding of nuclear physics and a desire to introduce a cool  
game weapon.
