There's a guy right now who's postulated a GUT; he was mentioned a of
couple weeks back on the list as 'surfer dude solves relativity' or
some such, turns out he's a very bright theoretical physicist who
also likes to surf...

Possibly, but unlikely, IMO. It wouldn't be like relativity and the
theory's effect on nuclear power...we already knew about fission; we
just couldn't explain where the energy came from. E=MC^2 let us
understand that.
It's not like we have examples of AG that we just can't explain.

C, if it's in a vaccuum. Light isn't affected by magnetic fields,
only gravitic ones.
