Congratulations!

My parents had a story sorta like that. He was a salesman for a
photography/printing company, she was a receptionist in the front
office. A couple of times a month or so, he'd blow through and drop
off orders, cutting up and making everyone laugh. She says he never
seemed to notice her, though.

But she was wrong. Dad played the extrovert well, but he was actually
shy like me. He asked her supervisor (a woman he had known for years)
who she was and if she was married. The supervisor said my future Mom
was recently divorced (a relative rarity in the early '60s), but Dad
said he didn't mind that. And the supervisor knew Mom had been asking
about Dad, too. So she set them up on a date.

Dad proposed at dinner. It took him another week to talk her into it.
But they decided to wait six weeks before telling anyone, to make it
look more respectable. They were married for 35 years, until he died
in 2000.

I used to hope I could repeat his feat. Doesn't look like it, though.
