Yeah. Those blamed writers do take forever to finish a book/series.
Don't they? :-) One that I've been reading is the set of linked
novels that started with "Island In The Sea Of Time." Very good.
Very grounded in reality, except for the initial quantum mechanical
bit that starts things off. The first half deals with what happens to
the folks who are thrown back in time. The second half (more than a
half, actually, since it's the part he's now concentrating on) deals
with what happens to the *rest* of our poor old world.

Want a long-distance loan of the Serenity movie? I actually have two
copies. I bought one when it first came out, then a second one (for
$10) when I found it for sale used at a local video store. The second
one is the one I loan out. I could snail mail it to you, then you
could snail mail it back when you're done.
Ideally, you should watch the series first. But I only have the one
set of DVDs and it's currently out on loan to a prospective FTF gamer
I've met. Besides, the movie actually contains enough exposition that
you can follow the story (and "get" the characters) without it. Of
course, two of the main characters *die* in the movie (Joss Whedon has
no qualms about killing characters), so that might affect how you
later watch the series . . .
