It's not military related but . . .

. . . a co-worker told me the other day: "Whenever a tourist asks me
for directions, I tell 'em, 'It's down by Traffic Light #4.'"

My little town of Gatlinburg numbers the traffic lights along it's
main street from #1 through #10.  But - for reasons known only to an
unknown traffic-planning guru somewhere - the sequence *skips* from #3
directly to #5.  There is NO #4.
