He undoubtedly did. But ISTR that neither side was shy about using
the others equipment, if it proved to be handy. German field officers
loved to get their hands on Jeeps, for instance. And I definitely
recall seeing a photo of a line of U.S. tanks headed into battle:
Sherman, Sherman, Sherman, Panther (with HUGE U.S. battle stars
painted on it), Sherman, Sherman, Sherman . . .
