Well, not so fast.

The German technological superiority was always hobbled by critical  
resource shortages, and by the end of the war, the Soviets probably  
had the best ground support air force in the world in terms of  
training and experience if not technology, even if a chunk of it was  
flying biplanes.

Nice, quiet, hard to see biplanes flying at night blowing up German  
encampments.
