First of all, why are you using a ship in this situation? A small grav 
vehicle armed with ground weapons is adequate to deal with a free 
trader, and is a lot easier to hide afterwards. Secondly, this only 
works well in a system which lacks patrol forces, and piracy isn't very 
hard in unpatrolled systems anyway -- just hit them before they've refueled.
