I went and read the wiki entry.  I can't say as this matches my vision
too well.  My jump drives are basically CT jump drives, it's just that
they are also . . . well . . . calling it "haunted" would be pretty
close.  New drives are made by cloning old drives.  It's only very low
generation drives which have been around long enough to become
sentient.

Hmmmm . . . .

I'm wondering if maybe this vision has been influenced by reading too
many World of Darkness products?  :-P
