Yep.  Remember the long thread a while back about UAV's as front line
fighters?  Riiiight.

I stand by what I said then.  Fighter planes need fighter pilots for
reasons of human psychology, not tactics or technology.  Now, I *can*
easily see the USAF letting the A-10 get replaced by a UAV of similar
capacity.  But I'll believe a fully-robotic air-superiority fighter
when I see it and not before.  The "real" fighter will be the last
bastion of the human pilot.  This makes absolutely zero sense - the G
force issue alone means a suitably-programmed robot makes a better
fighter pilot that even the most fit human - but every other warplane
will get a robot pilot before the fighter finally does.
