The better PDFs have the text *as* text, not a picture of the text.  Makes
them much smaller and easier to read.  The watermark is usually just a text
box added to the bottom of each page with the purchaser's name & order
number.  Easily deleted.  Yes, it is rather a misuse of the term
"watermark".
