Are y'all talking about the Mongoose Traveller main rulebook?
 
If so, my take:  A wee bit sloppy.  I didn't buy it primarily because of the artwork looking so schizophrenic.  I thought the interlinked character generation was good, since I did something similar in my last MT campaign.  
 
I took a peek at the B4 sampler on MG's site and was shocked to find a weapon that is a direct rip-off of the Shuriken Catapults from 40K; its called the MagRail Minigun and it fires razor sharp discs....just like a shuriken catapult/cannon used by the Eldar in 40K.
 
That chaps my sensibilities as a Traveller fan and former GW Outrider at the same time.  I've been a Traveller nut since 1983 and I'm not too keen on GW'ing our blessed game.  Couldn't they have used 4mm darts like all other Traveller gauss weapons?
