Agreed.  But stylistically spectacular.

I liked the book better, but the movie was still pretty good.  I
missed the sub-plot about the genetic modification of the bad guy and
the related twist with the hippy king.  But I could see how that would
just be a distraction from the main theme, in a movie.

I suppose the sub's drive is a bit SF.  But the rest of the movie is
definitely "international action/spy."

Agreed.

All agreed, especially 'Outland,' which is even closer to Traveller
than Firefly/Serenity.  Although I really wish 'Enemy Mine' had
followed the book more closely.  It's okay as it is, but the human
character's trip "home" to Drakland would have been nice to see
on-screen.
