The original question didn't specify that the purple was related to the 
photosynthesis, just that the plant was both. In practice, I doubt 
you'll find environments where all the plants are purple unless the 
photosynthetic dye is purple (probably a green absorber rather than a 
red absorber), but it's not essential to the question.
