Hya Leonard,
I remember the big green Gorn well enough from TOS, and the CGI version on that episode of Enterprise sure didn't look like it'd be 6-7m to me *either*, but I could swear the frighteneed blue alien guy said 6-7 METERS when questioned.
The more familiar "feet" (and by extension "miles") seems to be a term you don't often encounter in the Star Trek Universe (at least not in later incarnations anyhow)---not as accurate and/or scientific *sounding* as metric measurements, I guess, and ceertianly not a term one would find spilling from the mouth of some alien, afterall. (Speaking flawless English and using the metric system is acceptable for aliens, but using *feet* makes them seem less alien to Americans, maybe? I dunno...).
Perhaps a fellow geek (or TMLer, rather) with the episode on disc could check for us? :)
Maybe the blue guy meant 6-7m long. But then it didn't look that long either :)
Best.
