My freshman year in college (back in the late 80s - I was an "adult
student"), I took karate as my PE elective.  Of course, there were the
obligatory excited teenagers in the back of the class.  When the
instructor asked if anyone had any questions at the end of that first
session, one of them burst out with: "Who's the best martial artist?
Chuck Norris?  Bruce Lee?  Jean Claude Van Damm? (That Guy Who "Acts"
Without Ever Moving His Face*)?"

The instructor replied in a bored voice: "The guy at six feet with a
sawed-off shotgun."

*For the life of me, I can't remember his name . . . usually dresses
in either black or a couch-print floral pattern, lots of gold chains,
former Seal (I think)?
