Yes.  It's called spending Plot Points . . . which you could have
gotten for being Honest back at the starport about carrying the pistol
that you didn't know was illegal here.  As I said in another reply,
where the Plot Points come from don't matter.  Anyone can spend
whatever they have on any roll.
