Ah. But there are good ways to adapt books and bad ways. The
sequence of events in the movie of "Charlie Wilson's War" is greatly
simplified and a TON of minor characters are either left out entirely
or amalgamated with others. But - having experienced both - I have to
say that the movie did a more than passable job of conveying the
spirit of the book.
The movie of "Starship Troopers" didn't.
