I really like the books of Laurel K. Hamilton, but I like the earlier
ones better. In the latter ones, the entire middle portion of each
work consists essentially wading through hip-deep rose petals, as she
rhapsodies about the hair styles and eye colors of the various male
characters. Lately, these chapters never even leave the bedroom (or
the kitchen or the living room or wherever else it is that the
rhapsodizing begins).
<tongue in cheek> I think it'd be a really neat twist if she had one
of the guys decide to shave his head. Oh! The agony! The sacrilege!
