Well, they're screwed then: human ships will outperform theirs at most
scales, and human interstellar economics will further batter them.
They will have to learn to be less inexplicably homogenous (my chief
criticism of all Traveller aliens) and get with *some* competitive
program.  If a minority of K'kree ever arise that can conquer their
xenophobia or their claustrophobia (or both!), whether through drugs,
genetics, training, logic, or whatever, that minority will dominate
interstellar relationships.
