They don't.  Any interstellar competitive trade (even strictly between
K'kree) will rapidly be dominated by any K'kree minority that can
overcome the claustrophobia and/or xenophobia by just about any means.
 Militarily, they will be pressured by both internal and external
competition regardless of their interests.
