Do you really think ancient and proud race would allow itself to be
modified into the thing it hates the most just to get access to a few
markets? The Hivers did that to a few worlds during the K'kree-Hiver
War. The K'kree blasted the worlds sterile.
I'm also amused at your assumption that human ships will always
outclass K'kree ones. The Two Thousand Worlds has many subject
races, aliens who have embraced vegetarianism and hatred of the
gn'aack, who could easily provide fighter crews, engineering crews
for cramped spaces, etc.
