Cattle can be quite aggressive; I was raised on a working ranch.

Most herbivorous mammals defend a territory or harem, and spend much in
the way of calories and time watching carefully for predators.
While cattle, horses, goats and sheep haven't evolved in the same way
the K'kree are thought to have, it's not a bad premise for a single
species in a game of the far future.
