A lot of CD drives have a little hole on the front panel (or used to, I
don't know about recent drives).  Carefully pushing a straightened paper
clip in there pops the drawer.

When plugged it, are the fans running, drives spinning, any lights on the
computer?  If none of that, the power supply may have problems.
