Myself, I never saw much in the way of intrigue, there.  At least, not
in canon.  Dulinor seems to have been awfully poor intriguer (sp?), if
there were such going on.  Either he didn't bother to secure firm
support before shooting the Emperor (in which case he was a fool) or
he thought he had such support and was mistaken (in which case he was
simply inept . . . having been made a fool of by others).
