And if you read the article, there's mention the same researcher says
that he's working on other "metamaterials" but has no real idea - yet
- what they can do.  Apparently, if you can build stuff on a small
enough level, the resulting metamaterial has properties that none of
it's components could ever dream of possessing.

Superdense armor, anyone? :-)
