Thought of another bit:

And just WHY was it landing here, outside the downport, anyway?  What
sort of skullduggery was the original crew into?  Are the principals
of that - whoever they were - concerned about the new owners?  Perhap
there is something still on the derelict that they want, something
that they couldn't find during the months it was abandoned.
