But you could cut the structure in half, perpendicular to the viewer.
Slide the two halves slightly out of line and it stops being a
superlense.

Ah.  I see.  For some reason, I thought I was looking *down* at the
effect.  Still might work as surface tiles though.  I don't see where
the superlense would necessarily be a mirror.  A regular lense does
reflect light from certain angles.  But couldn't a "superlense"
re-focus all of it?  At least from the one side?
