Well, grease is there for another reason, as well, it helps to keep
the fouling softer, and makes cleanup easier, why grease is better
than plain wadding.
Those were improperly loaded blanks, too, if they went off that
easily, or it was the second shot, after the first had kicked things
loose a bit.
