Consider this:
The Quebecois speak a version of French closer to 17th century French. They
think the French (of France) have done a hatchet job on the language and
have let it be vastly contaminated by English. That's only in the last 150
or so years. Imagine forward to the 57th century. I doubt any Terran culture
of that age will closely resemble any Earth culture of today. Any French
that may have made the first hops into the sectors around Terra would not be
recognizable by the time it made further hops out into the Imperium and (at
long last) into the Spinward Marches. Those are likely to be colonies of
colonies of colonies.
Of course, you are free to do what you want. But I think language and
cultural values reflect a lot of the real situation of a country. As that
real situation changes, the language and the values change with it. Consider
living on another planet and a lot of centuries gone by to be likely to lead
to some major change.
