There was a programme shown here in the UK a few years ago which was
about female computer gamers.  Much of what was said could be applied
to RPGers, too, I'm sure.  I don't recall a great deal of what was
said, but it boiled down to the fact that most games, being combat
oriented don't appeal.  Games like The Sims, OTOH, where nurture is
key, do well with female gamers.  There was an indication that certain
companies were setting up female divisions to devise games specifically
aimed at females.  How far they got off the ground, I don't know.
