Hey, Bruce!
Eris is the name. I'm fifty-<mumble, mumble, mumble>...oh, all
right! I'm fifty-six years young. I've been Travelling since
1977, role playing since 1974, wargaming since 1964. I'm
currently, reffing 2 Traveller PBEM's and playing (sort'a) in
a Traveller forum game. I just can't seem to find a group here
in the Pensacola, FL, area. I like (but nitpick on) all
versions of Traveller, but I generally fall back on CT with
bits and pieces from everything else (I like GURPS weapons and
armor better than CT's take on them, for example.) and a few
loose house rules.
Eris
"Roll 2d6 add your pistol skill and beat, um...that's a pretty
hard shot, so beat 12. Made it! Roll 3d6+1 damage..12, -2 from
armor so that's all of his Strength and 3 from his Dex." and
"Don't have pilot skill? So that's -4, but you can add your
JOAT+2, so roll 2d6-2 and beat, um let's say 8 to change the
ship's course. Oops, didn't make it." is fine, but the
following is much better.
"The guard spins as the bullet punches through his uniform
leather jacket. He is knocked back out of sight behind the
pool table, you hear a groan and the sounds of him scrambling
around back there, so he's not *out" yet." and "You frown as
you examine the ship's controls. You *think* that you can
change the ship's course by moving that pointer with your
finger on the flat screen of the console...no, your finger
doesn't change the icon's orientation...it must be something
else. Hurry time's running out!"
